Safe Church: Upcoming Trainings

Did you know that SafeChurch is available online?

In New York State, employers are required by law to provide annual sexual harassment training to all employees.  In the Diocese of Long Island, this requirement applies to employees and volunteers who serve in key parish ministries.  In order to expedite compliance for this legal requirement, the Mercer School is working with the Bishop’s Office and the Chancellor to provide harassment training online through the Episcopal Church’s new Praesidium Academy platform. 
 
This requires each parish to have an online administrator who will be in charge of maintaining that parish's SafeChurch records. If your parish does not have an online administrator and wishes to set one up, you should designate a person and then contact Diocesan SafeChurch Administrator, Aissa Hillebrand at ahillebrand @dioceseli.org or 516-248-4800 Ext. 150.
